Geisert Farms
Since 1916, there has been little change to the way hogs have been raised on the Geisert Farm, just east of Washington, MO. Pigs are farrowed in “A” frame houses set in fields that were harvested the season before. Today, grain is delivered by modern equipment rather than horse, but when it comes to tending the herds everything is still done by hand. Many hands, in fact! Several generations can still be found in the fields helping to sort and feed the pigs, just as it was done over 90 years ago.
Billy Goat Chips
In 2002, The Billy Goat Restaurant & Bar opened as St. Louis’ first gastropub producing hand crafted, house made food using locally sourced products. Billy Goat Potato Chips were served from day one and quickly grew to become a signature item. The popularity and demand for these tasty snacks helped direct The Billy Goat Restaurant’s current path. In February 2009, they began potato chip production at The Billy Goat Chip Company, located in South St. Louis City. Sharing a desire to support local industries, The Billy Goat Chip Company works and establishes relationships with many St. Louis vendors and customers.

Goshen Coffee
Located in Edwardsville, IL, the Goshen Coffee Company makes it their business to provide the most flavorful and sustainable coffee. The coffee roasters at Goshen hand-select distinctive beans to begin a process that’s completely sustainable for both the bean farmers and the environment. Coffee is made in small batches from Fair Trade, 100% certified-organic beans so that nothing goes to waste. Everything is prepared in their custom-built air roaster before being sent to stores and coffeehouses.
ReTrailer Teas
Founded in 2012, the ReTrailer is the cutest mobile tea company this side of the Mississippi. All teas are hand-blended with organic, fair trade ingredients and prepared with love. Blends are influenced by an old life science, Ayurveda, which promotes the art of balanced living through positive thought and healthy eating. With this in mind, the ReTrailer hopes to spread health, happiness, and smiles all over the Gateway city and beyond.

Since Companion pulled their first baguette from their stone oven in late 1993, they have focused on the four C’s: companions, customers, community, and the company. With a reputation for doing things right, the local bakery is not only in the business of baking bread but also of supporting small growers and producers, encouraging sustainability, pushing culinary limits, and fostering friendships. Companion uses the best ingredients to prepare unique offerings, offers a gathering place, and treasures their St. Louis roots as a member of the communities they serve.

Better Life Cleaners
Inspired by their adventurous toddlers and all of the surfaces they explore, Tim Barklage and Kevin Tibbs started Better Life in 2007. They were concerned about the dangers of traditional cleaners and the toxic residues they leave behind. The challenge was to create a new line of cleaning products that set the standard in safety and work better than anything out there. The result of their efforts are a line of products that keep kids, pets, and the planet safe. No more harmful chemicals in the air and on the surfaces of our homes and planet.
